Single Window Initiative

The Canada Border Services Agency's (CBSA) Single Window Initiative streamlines the sharing of commercial import data between the Government of Canada and the import community. It balances the needs of government departments and agencies with today's globally competitive business environment. Along with the CBSA, there are nine participating government departments and agencies representing 38 government programs.

The Single Window has two service options:

  • Integrated Import Declaration (IID – SO911)
  • License, Permit, Certificate and Other Documentation (LPCO Image – SO 927)

Notice to importers, brokers and software service providers

Due to the delay in publishing the SWI Integrated Import Declaration (IID) ECCRD Addendum, which includes the necessary functionality to enable Trade Chain Partners (TCPs) to process co-regulated shipments, the deadline to decommission the legacy Other Government Department (OGD) release service options (OGD PARS and OGD RMD) will be extended to .

The CBSA encourages TCPs to continue to transition release requests from the legacy OGD release service options to the SWI IID (SO911).
