Certain Aluminum Extrusions
Notice of Initiation of Scope Proceeding

Ottawa, October 26, 2018

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated a scope proceeding on October 26, 2018, under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) respecting certain aluminum extrusions from the People’s Republic of China (China).

The scope proceeding follows the receipt of a scope ruling application submitted by Nokia Canada Inc. to the CBSA on September 27, 2018. This scope proceeding relates to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s injury findings made on March 17, 2009 in Inquiry No. NQ-2008-003, as amended on February 10, 2011 in Inquiry No. NQ-2008-003R, and continued by the Tribunal’s orders issued on March 17, 2014 in Expiry Review No RR-2013-003, concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain aluminum extrusions originating in or exported from China.

A notice of the conclusion and copy of the Statement of Reasons, which will provide more details about this proceeding, will be available on the CBSA’s website at www.cbsa.gc.ca/sima-lmsi on or before February 22, 2019.
