Catalogue No. PS38-51/2014E-PDF
Activities which strengthen the knowledge, abilities, skills and behaviour of those responsible for customs, immigration and border administrations so they can efficiently meet their objectives and goals in a sustainable manner.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is responsible for providing integrated border services that support national security and public safety priorities and facilitate the free flow of persons and goods, including animals and plants, that meet all requirements under the program legislation. The CBSA seeks to promote practices which support modern border management and the delivery of excellence in the professional development of senior managers, operational supervisors and front-line personnel.
The CBSA works closely with international partners to identify best practices and guidelines and has adapted its own learning products to meet the specific needs of recipient administrations. The Agency has internationally renowned centres of expertise that deliver training and provide mentoring expertise related to marine operations, border services officer recruitment, detector dog programs, and laboratory and forensic sciences.
The CBSA's approach focuses on sustainable capacity building projects designed to maximize benefits for the recipient country.
CBSA subject matter experts deliver capacity building activities on a wide range of subjects using both a hands-on approach to convey technical knowledge, and the promotion of advanced theories to enhance management capacities of participants. Information is delivered via meetings, workshops, seminars and train-the-trainer events.
This brochure is intended to illustrate the range of capacity building subjects covered by the CBSA as part of its international programming. For more information, please contact us at email@example.com.
