1. This notice announces regulatory amendments proposed by the Canada Border Services Agency to remove the licence fee charged under the Customs Sufferance Warehouses Regulations. It is further proposed that these regulatory amendments come into force on April 1, 2014, on the condition that the Governor in Council makes the regulatory amendment.

2.The customs sufferance warehouses licence fee will no longer be collected commencing with the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Proposed Regulatory Changes

3. It is proposed that section 5 of the Customs Sufferance Warehouses Regulations be repealed to remove the requirement that every licensee pay a fee. It is also proposed that subsection 3(1) be amended to remove the requirement that an amount of fee be paid under section 5.
