Renewing your CDRP card

The Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) will end as of due to low uptake.

Current members are encouraged to apply to the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program to extend their Trusted Trader benefits. CDRP membership cards will remain valid until their expiry date.

You now have a choice! If it's time to renew your CDRP card, you may want to consider applying for the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program.

If you are approved to participate in the FAST commercial driver program, you will receive a card to use at the border that will allow you to:

Is it time to renew your CDRP card?

Your CDRP card is valid for four years. To locate the expiry date on your card look on the right side of the card above the bar code, as depicted in the image below.

It takes approximately six to eight weeks to process your application.

To avoid any disruption in service, it is strongly recommended that you re-apply six months before your current card expires. If you attempt to use an expired CDRP card at the border, the carrier company will receive an Administrative Monetary Penalty (AMP).

To re-apply to the CDRP program, you must complete a new application. Applications can be obtained from your local CBSA office or downloaded in PDF format.
