Welcome to this video on how to set up a delegation of authority for employees in the CARM Client Portal.

In this video you will learn:

How to access the delegation of authority page within the portal.

And the process for delegating authority to an employee.

Let’s begin by learning how to access the delegation of authority page.

First, click on the CBSA CARM Client portal link.

Enter your GCKey username and password.

For the purposes of this video we are using a GCKey to sign in.

You may also login using a Sign-In Partner.

Click on the “Sign In” button.

Click on the “Continue” button.

The terms and conditions of use will be shown each time you log in.

You must read and understand these every time before accepting.

Click on the “Accept Terms” button if you would like to proceed.

Declining the terms and conditions of use will cancel the login process.

From your portal home page, click on “Manage pending employee requests” under the “Most requested” column.

Alternatively, click the “Setup my portal” link, and navigate to the “Manage my employees” link found there.

Now, let’s review the process for delegating authority to an employee.

It is important to note that there are only two user roles that can delegate authority to employees: Business Account Manager and Program Account Manager.

The Business Account Manager has full access to all functionalities within the portal and may provide (or revoke) employee access for both the business account and any program accounts.

Program Account Managers have full access to portal functionalities related to a specific program account, and may provide (or revoke) employee access for their specific program account.

From this page you will be able to manage employee access to your business account.

In the “Actions” column you will see the ability to approve, reject,  or view the details of an employee access request.

If you know the action you would like to take, select “Approve” or “Reject” accordingly.

For more information, click “Details.”

Review the details provided.

Comments regarding the access request from the employee can be found here.

If you would like to grant the employee access, click on the “Approve” button to continue.

Indicate which programs the employee should have access to by selecting either: “All programs” or “Individual programs.”

Select the type of access that this employee should be granted from the options available in the drop down menu.

Click on the “Next” button.

You can review the access summary for the employee here.

If you would like to proceed, click the “Approve” button.

The access request has been successfully approved.

Here are some key points to remember.

Delegation of authority to employees will only be possible if you hold a Business Account Manager or Program Account Manager user role.

View the details of pending employee requests before accepting or rejecting to see any comments regarding access that the employee may have made.

And finally, after making your access type selections, review the access summary that appears to confirm it is correct before approving.
