Importers

Eligibility

Importers must meet the following conditions to become authorized FAST participants:

• They have a demonstrated history of complying with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements;
• To satisfy the residency requirements, they should be permanently established, located and managed within Canada or have a branch office in Canada;
• They are a Customs Self Assessment (CSA)-approved importer;
• They have signed a Partners in Protection (PIP) memorandum of understanding; and
• They use carriers and registered drivers who have been approved for the FAST program.

Application

There is no FAST application form for importers. Canadian importers are automatically approved for FAST once they become approved members of the CSA and PIP programs.
