FAST interviews have resumed at land enrolment centres in Canada and in the U.S.

All conditionally-approved applicants wishing to schedule interviews can do so through the Trusted Traveller Programs scheduler.

For an update on the status of your application, check your account on the Trusted Traveller Programs System. You are encouraged to renew your membership before the expiry date to retain your membership privileges.

Eligibility

You may qualify to participate in the program if you are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or the United States and you reside in Canada or the United States. You must also be 18 years old or over and possess a valid driver's licence. You must be admissible to Canada and the United States under applicable immigration laws.

You may not qualify if the following applies:

Both Canada and the United States must approve your application. If you do not meet the requirements of both countries, your application will be denied.

Note

If you are inadmissible to Canada on the grounds of your criminal history and you are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, you can apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC) Criminal Rehabilitation Program. Qualifying for this program may help you meet the eligibility criteria for the FAST Commercial Driver Program.

Mandatory documents

You will need to bring the original documents to the enrolment centre for your final processing interview.

1a. Citizens of Canada or the United States:

Proof of citizenship (one of the following):

Canada

  • valid passport;
  • birth certificate and photo ID;
  • Canadian citizenship certificate (with photo) or card; or
  • Certificate of Indian Status.

United States

  • valid passport;
  • birth certificate and photo ID;
  • U.S. citizenship certificate;
  • certificate of naturalization; or
  • border crossing card.

1b. Residents of Canada or the United States:

Proof of residency (one of the following):

Canada

  • valid permanent resident card; or
  • record of landing (IMM 1000).

United States

  • valid permanent resident card

2. Current place of residence

One of the following documents:

Working or studying in Canada or the United States?

You must also provide a photocopy of your work permit or study permit.

Fees

The non-refundable processing fee for FAST is US$50 per applicant. A FAST membership is valid for five years.
