The hiring official you list on your application will verify that you applied for the proper screening level needed for your position and will approve or reject your request
The CBSA's Personnel Security Screening Unit will conduct the security screening, which includes a:
financial inquiry
law enforcement inquiry using fingerprints
CBSA internal databases check (applies to applicants and employees of the CBSA only)
Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) security assessment (for secret or top secret clearance only)
law enforcement record check, internet inquiry and security interview (for top secret clearance or enhanced security screenings)
If the CBSA approves your status or clearance, the hiring official will contact you to sign and submit a security briefing package and final paperwork
