UDS 2022 UP5: Upholstered domestic furniture
Notice of termination of normal value review

Ottawa,

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today terminated a normal value review (review) to update all normal values and export prices applicable to certain upholstered domestic furniture (UDS) exported from China by Ruihao Furniture MFG Co., Ltd. (Ruihao).

The review was initiated following a request for re-determination filed by an importer and is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) order issued on September 2, 2021, respecting the dumping and subsidizing of UDS from China and Vietnam in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).

On May 25, 2022, the importer filed an application with the CBSA to withdraw its request for re-determination. On May 26, 2022, the CBSA notified the importer that its request for re-determination had been withdrawn.

On May 27, 2022, the importer also filed a letter with the CBSA requesting that the review be terminated. On the same date, Ruihao filed a letter in support of the termination of the review.

In light of these requests and other considerations, the CBSA terminated the review.
