Customs Notice 24-10: Termination of the temporary electronic procedures for Canada Border Services Agency's Trade Programs (COVID-19) – GTA Pilot

1. This notice provides information regarding the termination of the temporary measures put in place by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to address the administrative difficulties imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. The CBSA issued Customs Notice 20-37 - Temporary Electronic Procedures for Canada Border Services Agency's Trade Programs (COVID-19) – GTA Pilot on to alleviate the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic may have had on mailing or delivering documents to a CBSA regional office.

3. The CBSA is announcing the termination of this pilot program at the end of day (11:59 pm Eastern Time) on .

4. Any electronic submissions made after this date for Single and Blanket B2 Adjustments or Voluntary Disclosure requests will not be accepted nor acknowledged.

5. This step will allow the agency to better focus its efforts on the upcoming implementation of CARM: CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management project. The CARM project will allow for many CBSA trade services to be performed electronically, this will include replacing the existing paper processes for the trade programs that were a part of this pilot.

6. As of , no new participants will be allowed to enroll in the pilot program. Existing participants will have until the end of day (11:59 pm Eastern Time) on to make their submissions.

7. As of , all submissions for the Agency's above-mentioned trade programs must be made following the procedures outlined in in D11-6-4: Relief of Interest and/or Penalties Including Voluntary Disclosure, D17-2-1: The Coding, Submission and Processing of Form B2 Canada Customs Adjustment Request and D17-2-4: Preparation and Presentation of Blanket B2 Adjustment Requests.
