Security Screening Automation

The security screening system will improve how we share information with our screening partners and enhances security screening abilities through:

Application Modernization

In keeping with the 2018 Government of Canada Cloud Adoption Strategy, the Canada Border Services Agency established the Application Modernization project to migrate applications to the cloud. This will result in further efficiencies to help manage our borders.

Secure Corridor and Commercial Lane Enhancements

Provide border services officers with greater access to technologies to expedite commercial passages, while ensuring processes work consistently and reducing in-person interactions at busy commercial ports of entry.

E-Commerce Low Value Inspection System

Introduce technology-enabled solutions to manage the increase of low value shipments, particularly those sent by courier, and enhance the CBSA's ability to process large volumes of transactional data while improving the way officers review shipments.

Improve the user experience for travellers through the provision of optional, self-service tools.

Digitalization of the Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Program (E-filing Solution)

Enables the CBSA to process and disclose information to stakeholders in a timely manner during ongoing Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) proceedings, helping more stakeholders comply with the Guidelines on the Disclosure of Confidential Information and relevant SIMA provisions.

Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM)

The EPPM solution will allow the agency to track and monitor project progress and provide accurate, timely and relevant project management information. This includes tracking project stage approvals, decisions, records of decisions at governance committee meetings, and reporting.

Fuzzy Search

The Fuzzy Search tool is a vital resource used by border services officers to identify high-risk travellers and goods. It has been in use since 1994 and requires updating for efficiencies offered by technological advancements.

Officer Experience

The Officer Experience project aims to improve efficiency and the overall user experience for officers by merging multiple traveller processing systems into one centralized platform, migrating data to the cloud and using analytics to support officer decision-making.

Travellers Accounting and Revenue Management

The TARM project will replace three aging systems that process goods imported for personal use; received by mail or brought in by travellers.

Cross-Border Currency Reporting Automation

The Cross-Border Currency Reporting (CBCR) Automation initiative seeks to address issues with how information is sent to FINTRAC, making sure required data in shared on time to support of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).
