Accessibility feedback process at the Canada Border Services Agency
We're working to make the CBSA fully accessible by . This means finding and removing barriers in hiring processes, buildings, public spaces, communication, technology, purchasing, services, and transportation so that everyone can participate fully. Your feedback is crucial in identifying and removing barriers for persons with disabilities.
What is a barrier
A barrier is anything that hinders the full and equal participation in society of persons with an impairment, including a physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication or sensory impairment or a functional limitation. The barrier can be physical, architectural, technological or attitudinal, anything that is based on information or communications or anything that is the result of a policy or a practice.
How to give accessibility feedback
You can provide accessibility feedback or speak directly with a member of the Accessibility Office through any of the below methods.

Submit anonymous feedback
If you want to provide anonymous feedback:
- do not state your name or provide any other identifying information (for example, your email address or phone number)
- do not include your return address on the envelope if you send feedback by mail
What we do with your feedback
Regardless of how the accessibility feedback is provided, the CBSA will:
- acknowledge receipt of any feedback received where contact information is provided
- retain an electronic or print copy of all feedback received for 7 years
- classify the feedback
- share the feedback with the appropriate Priority Area leads for investigation
- analyze the data for trends and patterns
- include analysis in progress reports to inform future plans and priorities

Formats available are:
- large print (larger and clearer font)
- Braille (system of raised dots to allow visually impaired people to read with their fingers)
- audio (recording of someone reading the text out loud)
- electronic formats that are compatible with adaptive technology
Privacy
The CBSA is committed to respecting and preserving the privacy of anyone who submits accessibility feedback. Feedback provided is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act. Names of individual contributors will not be published in annual progress reports or in accessibility plans.
