Register an international event with the Canada Border Services Agency
If you register your conference, convention, trade show, sporting competition, meeting, or exhibition event with the CBSA in advance, we can provide advice to help ensure your participants, goods and materials cross the Canadian border smoothly and efficiently. This includes information on requirements and services from other government departments.
Examples of who might benefit from this advice: business owners/operators, international organizations, customs brokers, event promoters and organizers.
When to register: At least 15 business days in advance of the event's start date.
After you register: You will receive a “recognition letter” detailing what you should know, including visa requirementsFootnote 1, customs clearance information and more.
How long it will take
Our service standard for responding to questions and online registrations is 2 business days.
Other ways to register
Contact the regional coordinator nearest to your event location (listed on the next page) with your event details.
You can use this sample to help you write your initial letter of contact.
