The CBSA strives to be an inclusive working environment that values respect and diversity, as well as equal access to jobs and promotional opportunities for women, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities.

In support of this, our recruitment activities strive to build a workforce that is representative of the people we serve.

Over the last year, we have undertaken a number of initiatives to support and promote diversity at the CBSA, including:

Participants gather in the Primary Inspection Line at Ottawa MacDonald Cartier International Airport during the Young Women in Public Safety Initiative

Participants gather at the Laboratory listening to a presentation from a scientist during the Young Women in Public Safety Initiative

These initiatives help us minimize and remove barriers that could otherwise lay in the way of talented individuals who aspire to serve Canadians from doing just that.

It’s our goal to continue building the healthiest, most inclusive workplace culture possible to grow our reputation as an employer of choice to attract the skilled and dedicated individuals we need to continue supporting a safer and more prosperous Canada.

And in this pursuit, diversity is undoubtedly our strength.
