Description of the objective
Section 243 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations outlines requirements for the recovery of removal costs from foreign nationals that have been removed from Canada at the government's expense.
This regulation, including the prescribed amount to be recovered, will be reviewed and updated to account for adjustments, such as inflation and other contemporary cost factors, which have emerged since the regulation was established.
