Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration pilot program

AVRR is a Government of Canada pilot that provides support to unsuccessful refugee claimants in or around the Greater Toronto Area.

The pilot is being carried out as a partnership between the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the International Organization for Migration, an intergovernmental organization. The three-year AVRR pilot program began on June 29, 2012, and will end on March 31, 2015, as planned. The final day to apply was February 13, 2015.

Moving forward, the CBSA will continue to look for new ways of delivering its removals program in an effective manner particularly for foreign nationals requiring specialized reintegration support to return to their country of origin.
