Inspection lane reductions during demolition of old Queenston Plaza

Niagara Falls, Ontario, September 5, 2012 — The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) informs travellers that there will be some primary inspection lane reductions at the Queenston–Lewiston Bridge as the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission demolishes the old duty-free store and removes large concrete barriers from the old Queenston Plaza. There will be improved access to the new inspection booths and more space for vehicles approaching the inspection area once the work is completed.

The demolition will occur between September 4, 2012 and November 12, 2012. The demolition schedule is available on the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission Web site at www.niagarafallsbridges.com.

Motorists should also consider crossing at the least busy border crossing whenever possible and checking for traffic updates:

Travellers are reminded to plan ahead, allow for extra time for travel and have identification and purchase receipts readily available. Be patient and drive safely.
