Victoria, British Columbia, May 24, 2012 – In recognition of National Missing Children's Day on May 25, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) wants to give parents tools to help protect their kids, and a package that might make all the difference should the unthinkable happen. The initiative supports Child Find, who provides identity kits that allow parents and law enforcement to respond quickly in the event a child goes missing. Border services officers will provide parents with a kit containing a current photo of the child against a height chart, a copy of their fingerprints and basic biographical data. They will also provide information in the package for parents on everything from preventing abductions, to specific information for teens and cyber safety.
