The battery-powered pet food dispenser, consisting of a base, food reservoir and food dish, is designed to dispense food in measured quantities. It holds up to 4.5 kilograms (10 pounds) of food. The unit incorporates a small motor to dispense food for pets at regular, electronically programmed times in amounts of up to three times a day.

Heading 85.43 of the Harmonized System covers “electrical machines and apparatus, having individual functions, not specified or included elsewhere in this Chapter”.

In accordance with General Interpretative Rule 1 of the Harmonized System, the automatic pet feeder is classified under classification number 8543.70.00.00 of the Customs Tariff.
