The CBSA is committed to respecting the personal privacy of all individuals who subscribe to our e-mail alert service.

By subscribing to an e-mail alert list you will receive e-mails from the CBSA containing information pertinent to your needs. The e-mail alert lists at the CBSA involve only one-way communication with you as a subscriber to CBSA information. Subscribers can unsubscribe to a CBSA e-mail alert list at any time.

The following summarizes our e-mail alert lists privacy policy and practices.

• The CBSA does not automatically gather any personal information from you. Personal information is only obtained if you supply it to the CBSA by sending an e-mail or by subscribing in a secure portion of this site.
• Subscription information provided by you to the CBSA will not be disclosed or used for any purpose other than the delivery of CBSA information that you have requested be delivered via the e-mail alert lists mechanism. Subscription information provided by you is only used by CBSA officials who need to know the information to respond to your request for information or to ensure the security of the system.
• Subscription information will not be used to create individual profiles, nor does the CBSA disclose this information to any party or outside the federal government unless required by law. Subscription information will not be shared with any other subscription service within the CBSA nor will it be cross-referenced with any other CBSA information for any other purpose.
• All personal information provided by you is protected under the federal Privacy Act. This means that the CBSA requires your consent to collect the subscription information, and that you have a right of access to that information.
